About these terms
These Terms and Conditions govern use of https://fencingcompanystoke.co.uk and the supply of fencing services by Fencing Company Stoke - Installations and Repairs Contractor. By using the website or accepting a written quote, you agree to these terms unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Services
We provide garden fencing, fence repairs, installations, composite fencing, closeboard and feather edge fencing, wooden gates, commercial fencing and security fencing across Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and surrounding areas listed on our website.
Service descriptions on the website are for general information. Your specific scope will be set out in a written quote or agreement.
Quotes and contracts
Quotes are based on information you provide and, where necessary, a site visit. A quote is an estimate unless stated as a fixed price. Quotes are typically valid for 30 days unless another period is stated.
A contract is formed when you accept a written quote and any deposit or scheduling terms we specify. Verbal agreements should be confirmed in writing to avoid misunderstanding.
Site access and customer responsibilities
- You must ensure we have safe access to the boundary and work area, including side passages and rear gardens
- You are responsible for confirming the fence line with neighbours where boundaries are shared or disputed
- You must inform us of underground services, easements, Tree Preservation Orders or planning constraints that may affect the work
- You must obtain any required planning permission or listed building consent unless we have agreed in writing to assist with applications
Pricing and payment
Prices in quotes are in pounds sterling (GBP). Unless stated otherwise, quotes cover labour and materials described in the scope. Additional work discovered on site — such as rotten posts, concrete removal or access difficulties — may require a revised quote before proceeding.
Payment terms will be stated on your quote or invoice. We may request a deposit for materials on larger installations. Late payment may incur reasonable recovery costs permitted by law.
Cancellations and postponements
If you need to cancel or postpone, contact us as soon as possible. Deposits for materials already ordered may be non-refundable. If we cancel due to circumstances outside your control, we will offer a reschedule or refund of any deposit not used for materials.
Installation standards and delays
We carry out fencing work with reasonable skill and care using appropriate materials for the agreed specification. Start dates are estimates. Delays may occur due to weather, supplier availability, site conditions or events outside our reasonable control.
Guarantees and defects
Where a workmanship guarantee is offered, its duration and scope will be stated in your quote or completion documentation. Normal timber weathering, movement in clay soil and third-party damage are not defects in workmanship.
Report concerns promptly so we can inspect and, where appropriate, remedy legitimate workmanship issues.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited under UK law.
Subject to the above, our liability for loss arising from fencing services is limited to the amount paid for the relevant job, except where a higher limit is required by mandatory consumer protection law for domestic customers.
Website use
Website content is provided for general information about our fencing services. We aim to keep information accurate but do not warrant that the website is error-free or uninterrupted.
You must not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access, or copy content for commercial republication without permission.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to your statutory rights as a consumer.
